I have bits about me on other profiles, but this blog is an expanded version for those who are curious to know me better.
First and always foremost to me, I'm wife to a wonderful husband to whom I've been married for five adventure-filled years and a happy mother of three precious children. My son is four, my first daughter is two and I have a new baby girl, too. I own a business that let's me work around my family and do what I love -- help people improve their quality of life.
...I am living my dreams! I don't take that for granted. After all, how many people can say that they're doing what they've always dreamed of doing?I have many interests including:
- My Family
- Number one in my life is my husband and maintaining the incredible relationship we share, and second is my children whose futures I take very seriously.
- Networking
- It's great because I love people above all else and it often allows me to offer help and advice to so many more people than I would if I weren't actively networking. It's an incredibly rewarding activity on so many levels.
- Wellness
- I can't get enough information about nutrition and overall wellness as it applies to quality of life and I love working out with my husband as well as being active with my children (silly dancing, here-comes-the-monster game, hide-and-go-seek, walks, going to the park, etc.). I believe that being well helps people lead more productive, influential and ultimately more fulfilled lives. That's certainly what happened for my son and me when we overcame significant health problems! When people are operating at the full potential they were designed to have, they are happier and have more energy to be aware of and reach out to others.
- Teaching / Coaching
- I really enjoying inspiring my children to explore and learn and hope to home school them as they get older. I also love the part of my [other] job that allows me to coach individuals about simple lifestyle changes that can improve their quality of life. It's amazing what a few small changes can make in a person's life and outlook and it's great being a part of that.
- Calligraphy
- Here's a link to my portfolio: Willow Haven Calligraphy. I am available to complete projects, but I need to be given plenty of time to finish them. It's not easy doing calligraphy when my kids are awake! It requires much patience, concentration and commitment.
- Writing
- I have pages and pages of book ideas from a whole children's book series, to a novel for teenage girls, to a novel geared toward adults based on real but disturbing events.
- Playing board or card games
- Games are such a great way to get to know people in a relaxed, fun environment (unless someone is a super-poor sport, of course). It's also a good way for people to connect and talk; sometimes it's easier to talk about certain subjects over a game.
- Travel
- In a previous job, I traveled vicariously through other folks and loved hearing about their adventures. I also "traveled" to other parts of the world when I was younger by meeting people online from other countries and asking them about their lives.
- Moving!
- Roller skating, running, walking, climbing, hiking, camping, ballroom dancing, et cetera!
- Music
- I've piddled around with composing and love to sing. I also enjoy at least a little of almost all genres and get a lot out of listening to music. I bought my children a keyboard and hope to instill a love of music in them as well.
- Reading
- It was so great to join my neighborhood's book club because it got me to read many things I wouldn't otherwise have picked up. It expanded my reading interests quite a bit.
- More!
- There is so much richness in life and always something new to learn and explore. I love learning.
